D-link Dir-655Connecting Two Identical Wireless Routers On One Network?

I have the D-link dir-655 wireless router connected at my cable modem and i HAD a d'link switch patched in about 40 feet away. The switch died after 45 days.To solve the problem and extend my network I purchased an identicaldir-655 router to replace the switch. My thought was that i would configure both routers the same and be able to use the same network settings to access the network throughout my house.It didn't work.I even tried changing the IP address on the second router but it did something to the modem. After resetting everything, the original router works again. D'link support says what i am trying cannot be done, but i know it can.
Virgin media superhub was swapped for a new identical one as some users were unable to connect, but my connection was fine. When i booted my system up after it was configured by virgin I could see all connections but clicking on any "connect" button doesn't yield any form of output from the computer. Password problem? I dont get a response whenever I click "connect" on any of the other 20 wireless connections that i'm picking up, none of them being mine. When trying to add a new network from "network and sharing centre" via "set up a new connection or network" button on the mainpage or "add" button on the "manage wireless networks" tab yields the same, absolutely no reaction from the system.Now, I only add this info for science of deduction purposes, because it is truly baffling me right now, but when i first discovered the problem and went into "devices and printers" in contr panel and "add a device" my computer paused and then BSOD'd.
Things I have tried:
Updated the network card drivers Ran start up recovery - no problems detected after 20x running Logged onto the superhub through another users system and added my mac address to allowed lists, reserved i.p. address - both on and off, all combinations Pressed the wireless card button on the back of my system on and off, repeatedly Disabled/enabled network adapters in device manager Run winsock and dns flushes, ip release and renewals (e.g. things like "netsh int ip reset; netsh winsock reset; ipconfig release;renew) Each and every troubleshooter All the usual power issues, from setting maximum performance on the network card to unplugging and socketing the router main repeatedly Administrative tools-services-dhcp client-start&auto Tcp/IP protocols-ip and dns configured automatically?
*Haven't tried (last resorts)* Reinstall windows Remove, inspect and possibly replace or just refit network card and factory reset Give Richard Branson a slap Observations/Details Everyone, EVERYONE else can connect to the network, no problem I have full strength signal to the connection I know the password and it certainly hasnt changed All we did was swap identical routers! Logged into my other windows on a partition (original user account, messy so partitioned and made a clean install, but this was long ago and no network issues ever existed) and have the old exclamation mark over signal bars - troubleshooting it causes nothing, but at least the adding network functions yields results and it says im technically connected to the router - ive tried all noted fixes above on this windows install also.
I've got 4 identical Windows 7 PC's but one of the PCs cannot access the others for file sharing and does not have access to the printer which is hosted on one of the other computers.Strangely, all 4 computers CAN access the internet through the one LAN hub and all 4 computers CAN play network games with each other.
I have 2 ASA5510's acting as routers/firewalls, setup on a LAN, each one pointing to a different gateway (different ISPs), and the exact same VLANs set up as sub-interfaces on each of these. Both act as DHCP relays to a Windows Server 2008 DHCP server. All the Trunking has been setup and works. When I Untag a switch port, and point it to whichever gateway?
My wireless network signal is great on the first floor, but is weak on the second floor. I have tried different antennas and various locations for the antennas, but with little improvement. I prefer not to purchase signal amplifier. I have a second identical router. Can it be connected to the current router (LAN output) and by way of a cat5 cable, placed on the second floor to boost the second floor wireless signal?
When I connect my DSL modem to my DLINK wireless router, two identical DEFAULT connections appear in my wireless connection detection. Both will only connect locally.
it seams, that the mounting blade for the 1142 access point and the 2602 access point are identical.
We have ordered the new 2602 with internal antennas for deploying WLAN in a new building, but I never hold this accesspoint in my hands. We have a few mounting blades in spare from the 1142 accesspoint. The question is, can I prepare the mounting of the 2602 access point with the 1142 mounting blade?

I previously used the DIR-615 with my high speed broadband connection. However I had to move to a new house and here I can only get WiMAX. I want to...Place the WiMAX modem upstairs to serve as modem and wireless access point Have the DIR-615 function as the main router and firewall (downstairs) Use the switch to connect all the rooms in my house FYI my WiMAX modem has no connection configurations. I just plug it in and it'll connect automatically to the WiMAX signal. It has 2 LAN ports but no WAN port. From my understanding of networking, I have to turn off DHCP on my WiMAX modem, put it in the same IP range as my DIR-615 (192.168.0.100-199), and disable UPNP and NATPMP. After this I'm stuck.How do I tell my DIR-615 to use the WiMAX modem as it's WAN connection?Should I reserve an IP for the modem in my DIR-615?
I have a Cisco 1841 router with Fa0/0, Fa0/1 and Se0/0/0:0 interfaces. Fa0/0 is facing the LAN. At the moment WAN interface is Se0/0/0:0. It has following configuration:
We have bought four identical 3750X switches with identical SW-images: 12.2(55)SE3 C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M
We initially connected two switches, this resulted in forming a stack.With the other two switches we wanted to do the same thing. However, we received the following message:
%STACKMGR-5-MAJOR_VERSION_MISMATCH: Major Version Mismatch (Local 1 - Received 6) with neighbor-1
Both switches will not see each other and the output of show switch stack-ports shows only one switch and both stack ports as being Down.
I did some digging using the show platform stack-manager all command to find out that three of the 3750X's have the stack version number 1.45 and one has 6.45. This would obviously indicate the reason behind the mismatch, but the SW-versions on all new switches are identical!
Checking the CISCO site explains that mismatching of Major version is critical:
Major Version Number Incompatibility Among Switches
Switches with different major Cisco IOS software versions usually have different stack protocol versions. Switches with different major version numbers are incompatible and cannot exist in the same switch stack.
That's all I could find. Nothing about changing the major version number, so all I can suspect is that IOS version needs to be the same.
I have a question regarding the dir-615. Can I have two routers( dir-615) in the same network? with the same name(SSID) and same password? on both routers? I have a firewall router(non dlink) and I have one dlink dir-615 connected to the firewall to give wireless service to one end of the building (already working), and I would like to add a second dir-615 to give wireless service to the other side of the building and I would like to use the same name(SSID) and the same password to access the internet, so users won't have to be asking again for the password.
What Happens if I Used 2 to 4 more wireless routers acting as Main Routers in my network? that their DHCP are enabled? would it cause connection Disturbance? I Have 4 Cisco Linksys E300 all of thier DHCP are enabled..so they have 192.168.2.1,192. 168. 3.1, 192.168.4.1, 192.168.5.1
everything was all good, my brother went crazy and unplugged everything.it effects our house phone too, that could be the problem.i just dont know what wires went where. all the wires are the same color.but i know which is which. just again, dont know where.i would like to get it done before he gets home later on.

Routers are connected to each other via LAN ports with a switch in between.Both routers have the same wireless SSID with the same password. I am able to connect wirelessly to both routers no problem.
I have a machine running a shared iTunes library which has a wired connection to router1. I also have an Apple TV wired to router2. My issue is if I am connected wirelessly to router2 I may or may not be able to connect to iTunes library. Conversely, if I am connected wirelessly to router1 I may or may not be able to play content from iTunes to Apple TV. I cannot figure out why everything works fine sometimes yet at other times I cannot connect devices between the two routers.

How do I test my routers ddns? My computer went down. So, my adsl ip address changed. I caused the modem/router to reboot. But the new ip wasn't sent to the Host (dyndns.org). I had to update my ip manually on [URL].

I purchased this TD-W8960N cause I thought it was a powerful beast, but it is not unless mine it is defective. On my mobile phone it shows -25 to -30 dBm at less than 10 inches away from the router antennas. In some places at home my phone disconnects when the signal drops below -70bm, however my laptop it is always connected because of the better antenna.
That's fine BUT, I installed my old Linksys WRT54G and the phone shows -3dB at the same distance from the antennas. Or is it that I overvalued the TP-LINK?Does anyone have compared signals with other routers. Should I assume that mi router is defective? Any trick to squeeze more power other than replacing antennas?

I was wondering if it is possible to connect two routers through wireless and make them talk to each other. Here is why I need it, I currently Have 6 wireless IP Cameras going too 8. 2 are wired on one router in my house and the other 4 are wireless(with wired capabilities) Im going to wire the other 4 too a 2nd router so the cameras are always running and don't suffer any down time due to signal loss (happening a lot at the moment). How can I get Router B to talk to Router A, so I can look at all of the cameras from Laptop in my house which is closer to Router A.
My Router A is TL-WR1043ND, I'm also going to probably buy another one. How to configure it properly. So I can login to the cameras from my laptop.
The 2 routers are Di-524UP and Dir-655.I have 2 routers and 2 modems,Computer 1 and and 2 are running on the same router as they have low internet usage.Computer usually does large amount of downloading and streaming and requires a separate connection as not to lag the browsing for computer 1 and 2.How could I link router 1 and 2 together so that my computer 3 could deposit files that are downloaded over the internet through wireless lan into my NAS.Or are there any devices that can bridge 2 routers with 2 different network connections over the same lan network.

use the TL-WR541G for my children wireless laptop, wireless ipad and wireless iphones. I can turn this unit off at a specific time each evening as I wish.
The WR841ND is used for my wireless laptop, wired iMac, wired Roku stream player and wired Voip adapter.
I tried a few things but really do not know what I am doing and I cannot get both wireless routers to access the internet.
What I tried so far:
Cable modem ethernet out to the input on the WR841ND router. took one of the four hardwire outputs from the WR841ND and ran into the input on the WR541G I powered on the cable modem....it booted... i then powered each router up and waited for each to boot. I launched web browser and navigated to : http://192.168.0.1/ this allowed me to setup the WR841ND router.

How do I set up the second router? I tried to disable the DHCP server on router 2 (WR541g) and change the IP but don't know what to change it to.
Just got virgin internet installed in my uni house, found out that my room is the only one that doesn't get any wireless signal. So to sort this out i bought a homeplug, plugged it in by the new virgin super hub and one in my room. This works perfectly fine, but im limited by the ethernet cable, so i thought i would plug in my old dlink wireless router to see if i could make my own wireless network just for my room. One moment the laptop was using the wireless connection from the router in our house and the next it lost internet access and then wasn't able to recognize the SSID or connection at all on the available wireless connections. We have reset the router and restarted the laptop countless times yet the only internet access we have is on the computer the router is hooked up to.The wireless connection works neither on the laptop nor the Wii, both previously works merely hours ago and with no problems until now.We assume there is an issue with the router itself, whether it be a loose ethernet cord (which only faintly can be moved in its place).It's almost as if the router is stopping them (Wii, and laptop) from having access. When we explore the wireless internet properties on the laptop, it shows the wireless connection, yet only there and doesn't give access to it. Could it be the router, or could the company have restricted WiFi only to the computer it is hooked up to?
I am trying to setup to wireless routers onto one network. One router is the ES4500 the other is the Apple Time Capsule. The apartment I am in has thick walls and because of this, there are some wifi gaps. Trying to set the second router in a different room to act as a wireless bridge/access point for the first router.
I am currently playing Football manager 2011 with a friend via a network game. The game will work perfectly if I connect my Laptop to the modem directly and bypass the Wireless. However if I try to play the game while connected to the wireless then my friend is unable to connect to the game. This is becoming an issue as for me to be able to play the game I have to turn the wireless off which is getting on the nerves of other family members
i have 3 home computers using the same wireless router. 2 of them have no problems detecting and accessing internet. one computer can access at times, but many times cannot detect network. i have tried restarting my modem, the router, my computer etc. at times, it works, at times it doesn't. at times, it is ok, at other times it is not.
I have the modem feeding a router that I turned dhcp off to use it as a switch, I then have the switch feeding a ubiquiti nanostation and a wireless router (to feed house 1). The other end of the nanostation is in house 2 (1000ft away) where I have it feeding into another wireless router to feed that home hard wired and wireless.Everything works but cannot get both to work at same time.

Is it possible to connect from Cable Modem – D-Link wireless N router – 4 port switch – Linksys Wireless G router?The reason is that my office is in the back of the house and I have a network cable running from outside to the front of the house. We purchased this router 6 months ago. It has been working perfectly fine with no issues whatsoever up until two days ago when suddenly our wireless network disappeared from the available networks. We have all the updated firmware. Originally we tried setting up a new network, that worked for about 20 hours before the network crashed again. Once it had crashed that time, I was just planning to wait it out until my husband got home so he could assist me with it but before he arrived him the network mysteriously reappeared. That night it once again disappeared. The following morning it was still lost, so I reset the router to the factory settings using the button on the back, and once my computer detected it router again I once again set up a new network. That worked and my connection was fine for about 12 hours this time before it once again crashed. I brought my laptop to connect it to the internet via the cable, and after when I disconnected it to leave the room the wireless was back up again.
I read the manual and went on the different options on [url],,,.1 and as far as I understood to set up a wireless password you need first to select WEP or WPAx. I did not see page 63 from the manual Section 4 Security "Enter a password between 2-20 characters. The router will generate a passphrase or key based on your password."
My internet speed was very slow so I re-set up my wireless network again. After re-setting up, my wireless network always disappears when all my wireless computer/phone get off the network for several seconds. When I try to get my wireless connection again, none of my devices can detect it. In addition, the light of the wireless sign on my router is constantly on (blue), but no device can detect the it. I always have to go to my wireless set up and save my setting again (no change to the current setting). What can I do to fix my wireless network, so it will be detectable at all times?
I have a dwa-556 adapter and dir-655 hub or router. I've read up on the 2.4 and 5 Ghz settings and decided to give it a try. Setting MODE to 11n(5 Ghz) g and d the Device Mgr resets the Network Adapter and I then check my Manage Network to find that the Wireless Adapter is now gone. Both d-link pieces of equipment support 5 Ghz. xmit.
suddenly my wireless network is not in range for my PC.....My tablet and my TV are connected wireless to the internet, through DIR 600, but my computer cannot see anymore my wireless network. I can see other wireless networks, from neighbors, but mine is not listed.If I connect my PC through a cable,I have internet access, but wireless is not working anymore...
