Linksys Wireless Router :: EA6500 Device List Not Working Correctly
Feb 19, 2013
Since a couple of weeks I have a linksys EA6500. When I go to the device list to see which devices are online the device list is not displayig the correct data. I see devices online that are offline and also devices are offline that are at the moment online. When I try to delete a device that is offline in the list I get error 2315. I have that error in the local and cloud interface. The list has a frozen state from a particular moment.
When I reboot the router then all devices in the list have status offline and the device list stays that way. Nothing gets online anymore or will be added. When I reset the router to factory default all keeps working without problems for approximately 24 hours and after that the problem occurs again. The list freezes again and you are not able to delete a device.
I searched the forums but no one has this problem. I only can find a post that describes my problem but for them a reset worked. In my case a factory reset works also but the problem keeps coming back.
I have the Linksys EA6500 with the latest firmware and have a question regarding the device list connection status.Currently, I am seeing devices in the list that have a connection status of live, but they are not even within my home network. What is the update/cycle time for the device list actually checking connection status of a device? In my situation, it has been 3 days (72 hours) since the two device showing as connected have not been connected to my home network/router. Noticed that this inaccurate connection status for these devices is also contributing to the Device Monitr app not showing correct device connection status info.
Would like to have real-time device connection status if possible. This device list is great way to know when device get connected or disconnected which let me know when my kids get home from school or using game console when should be doing homework.
The smart wi-fi app Device List indicates Local Network = 0 (that's incorrect) and Guest Network = 0 (that's correct). When i click Connected Devices for My Network, i see a list of devices but everything indicates 'Offline' and that of course is incorrect. How can i upgrade this software? I recently installed EA6500 and due to being slow, it was recommended to set back to factory default. That process did no go well, so i hope it is not necessary again. This router is not any better then the wrt320N so i am disappointed.
I have an EA6500 and have three AppleTV... all three generations.l I also have a DirecTV Genie and DirecTV HD-DVR that, together, provide whole-house viewing. When I first setup the EA6400 based network, all three AppleTVs were listed and my whole-house viewing worked. This past Saturday, however, that changed, when I couldn't see the programs recorded on the HD-DVR, from the Genie. My troubleshooting determined one of the AppleTVs had been assigned the same address as the HD-DVR upstairs and that the HD-DVR wasn't listed as being connected. Once I reset everything, the IPs resolved and the whole-house viewing was resolved, however, none of the AppleTVs are listed as connected, even though they are. I can check the connections by the AppleTV device and see that they do, indeed, have an IP address, and I can view material from the iTunes cloud or stored on another PC in the local network. I reset everything again, but to no avail. No AppleTV devies show as connected from Smart Wi-Fi. The AppeTVs are all wired to the LAN... not wireless.
So, the question is, is there a fix to get AppleTV devices to list? All of my devices and router have the lastest firmware. BTW, I had a WRT610N, which I'm now useing as an access point, didn't have this issue.
we are running CiscoPrime LMS 4.1 and I have the following problem.I have configured SNMP Settings as shown below (the order of the targets is exactly as it is configured on the server):As can be seen we use three different read community strings. I also have exluded a bunch of IP ranges and IPs from the filter settings. When I manually start discovery everything works fine, meaning that all devices in the above ranges that need to be discovered are discovered as "reachable". The problem appears in the scheduled discovery (happens once daily). In that case only the devices with Read Community snmp1, get discovered as "reachable". All other devices with Read community snmp2 & snmp3, as well as those that are excluded in the filter settings, are discovered as "unreachable".The discovery uses DCR as seed and seed devices are also configured.I also have a problem with PingSweep in the discovery, but I will open another discussion so that I don't complicate this one too much.
I got the new EA6500. For the last few days I've noticed there are multiple devices showing under one device with different IP addresses. In the beginning they show up individually with their own device names, then somehow combine. Each device is different ie. computer, phone, DirecTV box, etc. I did a hard reset, re-flash and still it keeps happening.
Once your devices start showing up in your device list make a DHCP reservation for each device. (after confirming that no other devices are listed under it).
If you have a device that has multiple MAC & ip addresses under it you MUST first determine what the devices are listed & power-down before you can delete the device. Also note that some wired devices will still show as connected so you must have to either power down the device by pulling Th power cord OR disconnect the ethernet cable.
I have an EA4500 and am using Cisco Connect Cloud software. Its working mostly fine except that I have one device on the network that will not show up in the device list. This is not an issue in itself and normally I would ignore (although it used to show up when I forst got the router) however..
The device is a WDTVLive media unit and required access to windows shares on a media server. Now the WDTVLive device is server an ip address by the router and is available from everywhere on my network but every couple of days it loses the capacity to search windows shares.
I know what you are thinking and I initially thought the same, this is an issue with the WDTVLive box. However one day I spent a few hours trying to resolve (Am an IT Consultant and know a little about networks) and found that I could not fix the issue. I then rebooted the router and it started working. I have since confirmed that every time it breaks I have to reboot the router.
I have a cisco EA2700. How to clear the connected devices list?I want to use the parental controls, but when I look at the list it shows every device that was ever connected to my wireless.
I'm trying to limit my kids' access to the internet during the night, since I caught them plugging their laptops and the Xbox into the router's Ethernet ports late at night so they could circumvent the wireless guest access. The problem is, I only have 5 available control slots and the list of devices I browse to choose from is vague at best. Half of the devices listed in parental controls say "Network Device" and the other half say "iPhone" or "iPad". Isn't there an easy way to choose the correct devices to restrict, like by IP or MAC address? And if not, why is this so confusing and difficult? I have a family of 10 in my house and everyone is connecting with their own phn or 3 iPads, 2 laptops, 2 desktop PCs, 1 Xbox and 1 PS3.I tried limiting the DHCP Reservation list, but that seems to only affect the wireless access, not the 4 ethernet port connections.
I recently upgraded my Wi-Fi router to an EA3500 and am controlling it using Smart Wi-Fi running on a wired Windows 7 machine. So far, I have been able to add devices to the network without issue and each of those connections works fine. All, except my TV, have been Windows 7 based machines. Smart Wi-Fi Device List has been able to "see" each device and I have been able to add them to that list as well.
I am attempting to add a Windows 8 desktop computer to the network which is using a external USB wireless adapter. That computer can see and connect to the network through the EA3500 and the connection seems to work fine. The only issue is that its adapter does not show up in the Device List.
1) Does the Device List do anything else besides showing a list of devices I chosen to add to my network?
2) How do I get my Windows 8 wireless adapter to show up in the Device List?
I upgraded to a 6500 from a e4200. I use ports 81-84 on test web servers set to static Ip,s when I open the ports nothing can get through from the outside. I can hit the pages internally on those ports and IP's but not from my external ip to those ports. When I set my old router everything is fine.
I recently buyed a Linksys EA6500 wireless router. I accessed [URL] to access the settings interface of the router. Went to "Connectivity Internet Settings" and chose type of the internet connection as PPPoE. Entered the username and password, clicked ok.
All Installed my AE1000 this evening, after two go`s got it to work BUT the Cisco installer comes up with "Our customer support team can assist Your Linksys Adapter was not successfully setup." but it is working .. I never got the screen with the four "bubbles" (as per the instructions here on the Cisco website)
wrt54g v1.1 After setting up the wireless router, I can use the internet on the pc as well as a wireless device. However after putting my pc in standby mode then back on, I can no longer connect to either. I have to restore factory defaults each time and re-enter all passwords and settings.
We have two laptop computers and our Tivo hooked up to use the wireless internet through our cable company with a Belkin router. Over Christmas we got a camera that emails directly from it, and it told us to press the WSP button on the Belkin router. The camera magically worked, however our computers did not work anymore! After an hour long phone call to Belkin, I got one of my computers to work normally again. However the 2nd laptop won't connect to the internet and our tivo isn't picking it up either, which mean our shows are not recording.
Also, I'm using two apple computers. When I attempt to hook up the airport network, it says "unable to join the network."
I recently aquired a 2nd AP1140, however when i configure it for WPA 2 it works inconsistent, a ping for example will work only for 33% of the time. The same client has no issues with my 1st AP using WPA2, with the 2nd AP WEP works without a glitch.
I have a DLink DIR-615 rev. B2 firmware 2.25. A few days ago, I started using Comodo Unite for VPN access with friends and LAN gaming. However, just recently the program stopped working correctly. I have reset my configuration, tried multiple different settings, and nothing at all has remotely worked.
E4200v2 DMZ does not appear to work correctly?I have two e4200v2 both with latest firmware and it appears to me that the DMZ setting does not work. I continue to have to apply many port forwarding and triggering rules to make needed ports accessible.
I own a wireless WRT54G, which has worked fine in the past. After setting up a new wireless network, I went to the router webpage to open some ports. The problem with the page loading is that it doesn't display correctly. No clickable text is displayed on the top of the page or the side bar, so I basically can't do anything whatsoever to configure it. I've tried loading it up in both Firefox and Internet Explorer, with IE saying the page loaded but with errors.
E1550 not connecting to any Google related sites via Kindle Fire web application (Silk) in Kindle Fire. Other wireless devices working fine from E1550 and all apps in Fire connecting fine.
So i see tons of threads here and on google talking about dns issues with their linksys router but I never see a solution other than to locally change the dns servers on the client machine to prevent it from using the linksys router dns. My router is the WRT310Nv2 running the latest firmware but I see others are affected as well. url...My issue is this router continues to fail dns resolutions and I have to either reset it or tell my client machine not to use my router as a point of dns resolution.
1. Why is my router failing to resolve domains correctly?
I have done this before on this exact model about a month ago, so it's still fresh in my mind on port forwarding. (note, I'm using firmware version: 1.0.00) I am running a windows 7 computer wirelessly using this router. What I do for port forwarding is type in router IP (192.168.2.1) in internet explorer, type in "default" as username and "admin" as password. I click the "applications and gaming" link which brings me to port range forwarding.
I fill in my port info, in this case a mine craft server running on 25565. I set up two of the same ports, different names both at the same port, one running TCP and the other UDP, when it worked previously the "both" option did not work correctly. (I used to have a private network that a buddy of mine set up a while back, and I doubt he remembers what to do and I don't know where the manual is to make a new one, searching the internet sends me spam of people asking questions.)
I read somewhere it may have something to do with DHCP server settings conflicting with my IP. My IPv4 address reads 192.168.2.100, and the DHCP settings says the same.
My problem is that we updated (yeah, right) our old router to a new TALKTALK one. Now my phone and one laptop device is connecting fine, no problem, but my old laptop that I need to go on is not liking the new connection. It's saying that it is connected but only local access is available and it says the connection is unidentified.
I use the Windows7 Virutal WIFI when traveling abroad to give my Iphone an internet connection in my hotel.I've had zero issues until this week. The WIFI connection is still showing up on my iphone, but I no longer get internet access (I only get an IP and subnet on the iphone now, no router or DNS info). The issue began (coincidence or not) as my MagicJack downloaded and installed a software update. MagicJack support says they aren't the issue. I experimented with created an Ad-Hoc network...no change. I've removed and reinstalled the wireless card and driver. No change. I suspect some corruption with ICS, but haven't found any solutions online to fix it.

My RV220w has a problem with DNS. I have configured the device for my network, but it seems as though DNS is not working correctly. For a background, I have a primarily Windows environment in my network, W7 PCs. I use homegroup to share files/printers amongst them. I like that I can type "\<server-name> in the Windows search box, and up comes the other computer's files. This functionality is still there with the RV220w, so that's not my issue. My problem arises when attempting to type "<server-name>" into the Remote Desktop Connection dialog box. I can no longer RDP to my other computers by name. Attempting by IP does get me there.
We have LMS 4.1 - it was working perfectly for some time - it was rebooted and now the services don't start correctly. I manually started most of the services but the Daemon service will not start.
The main page comes up and after I log in - all the sections list an error
'License Server / Deamon Manager is down. Please check license.log for more information'.
The internet connection on my laptop does not work correctly when connected to lan ,but it works fine for the WIFI.i checked the internet connection ,it works fine in other computes.most of the time the connection through lan is not recognized. sometimes it works fine for 1 day and does not work for another day.
It seems that motion monitoring setup for 930L is not working correctly.I've setup the camera to ONLY monitor the half of the screen, but it is still monitoring the other half of the screen as well.I've setup the camera to FTP the messages when motion is detected, and it is uploading the images when the other half contains the motion.
I am trying to configure a 3560 (Version 12.2(55)SE3) with IPServices to run WCCP to two to an Ironport WSA.
I believe everything is setup correctly, however WCCP is still not operational. I have check the debug logs on the switch and I'm presented with a number of messages along the lines of...

I have a Catalyst 3750 switch configured in a network. I would like an additional 3750 switch as a "hot" standby. A 2nd 3750 switch was purchased, and the same configuration was entered in to the new switch, so I have 2 switches with the exact same configuration.
When I move the connections to the new switch, I have a few VLANs that do not come up. One VLAN does come up and work normally. The VLANs in question show down, protocol down, and a show ip route reveals routes to the networks on these VLANs are not there When I put everything back on the original switch, everything works normally.
Why would the new switch not work with the exact same configuration?
I would like to know how to setup QOS on the linksys EA6500 wireless router. I know about the media prioritization settings, however, thats not enough for me. I would like to setup upload and download speed limits for certain devices on my network, like, say 300kbps download for a certain device at all times.
