So I powered the box offand on again.I appear to be able to see my other PC andmy NAS drive but the WiFi and the broadband connect was gone.I reconnected my PC to the Broadband andlooked for a connection, but none that I’ve found seam to work. I found a referenceto a TFTP utility, but all the links on your site appear to be dead, so I haven’tdownload it from anywhere else in case its different to your.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy device is Linksys X3000 modem router. What happened: I `ve tried to upgrade my router over Wifi connection and it failed.when the progress was at 98%. Obviously I should not have done it over the WiFi.There wasn't any warning when I`ve done that. When I got to this situation, my modem has had only power LED on and it was shining red.I have tried using reset button(including 30sec-30sec-30sec method), but it did not recover the modem itself(asI later found out, it did reset the config only). The following method of recover worked for me:
- connect PC to the modem using wired ethernet connection
- if the IP address is not automatically assigned(i.e. DHCP server is down on the router), then assign it statically on the PC. This is a key moment. The subnet you should depends on whether the config was already reset by this time. If it was, then use the default network settings.
It should be 192.168.1.x subnet. The modem should have 192.168.1.1, you can take, for instance, 192.168.1.20 for your PC. Then go to the browser, and go the router`s IP address(192.168.1.1 with default settings). You should see a very simple web page(different from the standard interface), prompting.you to upload the binary image file and upgrade. After doing so, the modem reboots, and stands up!
Still, I think even given that I`ve tried to upgrade the modem using WiFi, that should not cause issues by itself. I expect that the modem would firstly download the binary completely, verify its checksum, and only then switch to it. So I can`t imagine how flaky wireless connection would disrupt this process. I believe the issue is caused by a bug.A support lady have also confirmed I should not have used WiFi for this purpose. If that`s the case, then there should be some sort of warning in the management interface before starting the upgrade, and perhaps, even a protection against usage of WiFi for the upgrade.
I am running 12.3(11) T8 on Cisco 2821 platform and trying to upgrade to 15.0. No luck. So I tried to upgrade it to 12.4 24T. But failed several times on different routers. Is there an intermediate version I should land before jumping to 12.4 24T?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am facing an issue with several ACS appliances (some other work well) when upgrading to version 5.2.0.26.8.
When I launch the command acs patch install, I receive the following error message (we use FTP):
Failed to copy file '5-2-0-26-8.tar.gpg' from repository PatchRepository
(Error -302)
% Error: patch install 5-2-0-26-8.tar.gpg from repository PatchRepository - transfer failed (code 1)
This happens on three appliances but I could successfully upgrade 4 other appliances.
What is the reason behind this error code ? What could I do solve it ? I have already tried to create another repository on another server, without success.
When upgrading with .bin file (v1.05.8) via Administration - Firmware Upgrade, it fails when status showing 76% completion.

I had it all working fine, then I wanted to upgrade the firmware. The original firmware was 3-14-4. I downloaded and applied the 3-15-4 firmware. Now when it powers on the power light is on all the time. Immediately the sys, 4, 3, 2, 1, Internet, usb and wps lights flash once. Then about 5 seconds later the 4, 3, 2, 1 & Internet lights flash once, then a second later the cycle starts again. When I connect it to the PC it starts to make a connection on the NIC, but then the router resets. Model: TL-WR1042ND, Ver 1.3 . Is there a way to reset the firmware or get it working again?

I tried to upgrade firmware (I entered my model number WRT54G and hardware version 2 into Cisco menu and downloded the upgrade file they provided. My version was v2.02.7, downloded file FW_WRT54Gv4_4.21.5.000_20120220.bin . After I run the upgrade it said upgrade failed. After that I can't connect to internet and can't access the router. I can ping it from a hard-wired PC, but cannot get to the Administration Web page to retry the firmware update (I did download it from the site). Also Cisco Connect cannot connect to the router.
Oh Yes, I have tried holding reset button for 30 seconds, unplugging for 30 seconds, and replugging in the router. I do not get any different results.

I assume I have to do a factory reset then an upgrade in order to upgrade properly.
If I do a backup running 1.0.1.0, then upgrade to 1.0.4.17, then do a restore, would that put me back to 1.0.1.0? I'm trying to avoid configuring the router manually all over again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a client whom uses a DSL 10 MG circuit as their backup circuit for Internet Connectivity in case of a failure. The circuit uses a DSL modem that is unreliable. I was recommending yesterday tot he client that perhaps we could place a Cisco router in place of the residential grade DSL modem /router currently in place.I wanted to place a 1900 ISR G2 in there, which would allow me to swap the DSL module out whenever I can talk the company into a Metro E connection. At that point I could swap the DSL module out and put an Ethernet module in to receive the Metro E. I was not able to find a solution last night using the Dynamic Configuration Tool. Seems DSL has been phased out.Is there any recommendation that could be made to accommodate this clients request for a Cisco router that will handle DSL?

We have about 9 1900 routers and 1 ASA 5510 for partail mesh VPN network. So 8 1900 connect to 1 1900 and ASA located in HQ and datacenter. All worked well however there is one site running really strange. The tunnel between 1900 is up for a while and down. Reboot router seems to be the only fix. But tunnel to ASA does not seem to be down at all.
The issue happened again today, we rebooted the router on site but tunnel still not up. DEBUG shows: deleting SA reason "Death by retransmission P1 "
I can see alot of Apr 24 19:57:55.271: ISAKMP:(0): retransmitting phase 1 MM_NO_STATE...
To me it seems like the IDE packet sent but never got reply and timed out. I did also check on the other end, the HQ. All other tunnels are still running fine on that router, just this remote site. Plus I got the similiar output when debugging on HQ router.
One thing do notice though, there was no match on both router for the ACL to match/permit ESP traffic... I asked on-site staff to reboot the modem used in remote site.
if I have made a simple mistake with my config. It has authenticated ok and been assinged an Internet IP address from the ISP but the clients can not connect ping any internet address nor can the router.

We have Cisco 1900 Series Integrated Services Routers (has a wired router and a wireless router) and since this morning we can not send emails.I inquired with both the ISP and the hosting provider and all settings are correct.I can receive emails from outside the router, but can't send any emails out.If I try to telnet mail902.opentransfer.com 25 it doesn't connect.Port 25 is the port we were using all the time and was working through the router.I connected my laptop directly to the modem and was able to send emails using port 25, also was able to telnet to outgoing mail server. I didn't change anything in the router.is there a way to "enable" port 25 or "enable" mail.homeserviceclub.com (smtp server) or mail902.opentransfer.com (hosting mail server) if this would solve the problem?I don't understand why is this happening as I never had to enable or disable any email ports or mail server addresses.
