My download speed has since crashed and burned, getting .3-.5 Mbps down but still normal ~4Mbps upload speed. A wired setup through the router gets ~22Mbps, which is what I'm paying for so it's not an ISP issue. how I can figure out if it's the router's wireless or my laptop's card (no other PC handy) and what I can do to fix it.

Tried unplugging the wireless card and plugging back in. Made sure I have latest drivers. Disabled and enable the card.I then tried plugging in an external belkin adapter in the usb and that worked. There are 2 other PC's in the house and they are both connecting to the internet fine. But I tested an old laptop we have and that didn't pick up the router either.I went on the pc in the other room next to mine and tried changing the channel it was on from 12 to 5 and it actually worked now my pc can find my router (???)But we've been having alot of issues lately with bad internet on certain channels etc.I don't really understand why channel 5 would work but channel 12 doesnt? We are experiencing more latency on that channel too.

If i were use this, do I insert it in the HWIC port or do I use a Voice 2V module to insert the FXS card and then insert it into the router. Also , is there any other FXS card that can be used apart from the VIC2-2FXS.

I purchased a computer with a pre-installed wireless card which was stated to be b/g/n compatible. When I go to setup a connection to the wireless network (through a Netgear WGR614 v8 router), it has no problem detecting it with a full five bars. However, when it prompts me to enter the password I do, but immediately afterwords another password box appears prompting me to reenter the password again. After repeatedly doing so, it will eventually say the password is incorrect. I know the it is correct because I've since purchased a Netgear USB adapter for temporary purposes and it connects using the password. I've even accessed the router to ensure the password I was using was correct and it is.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have one problem regarding a configuration (or setting up) of 3G SIM card for 887G router backup. That SIM card had a PIN code, so I disabled it, and now I can see that 3G light flashes Blue, so it detects 3G network. Also I can see that modem tries to dial up to connect to network, but with no luck. It has CHAP APN. Also in configuration I've found that there is PPP CHAP username and password, but I don't have any of those. I've tried to configure my SIM card with Username and Password, but it doesn't save. At the moment I have: Cellular 0 is down, line protocol is down. Dialer 2 is up (spoofing), line protocol is up (spoofing).
SIM card status is OK. Network detects O2 - IRL - yes.
It detects the network, but cannot connect to it. I'm not sure how to setup the SIM card or how to unlock it.
I just got a brand new Cisco 2951 router that has built-in 3 gigabit interfaces cards. We want to add additonal 2 GE EHWIC-1GE-SFP-CU card to it. When it booted up and type show inventory, it did not detect the presence of the card. There was light on at the back of it. I have checked the compatibility on Cisco. The card is compatible with this router. Do we have to install the card with special instructions in order for the router to see it?

I recently bought a router with 300+450mbps dual-band connectivity. I have a computer and am looking into buying a wireless n adapter. Should I buy a 450mbps-capable card? They cost much more than 300mbps cards and I'm not sure if the price difference is justifiable if current devices won't saturate all of the bandwith. Also, will a 300mbps card slow a 450mbps network down to "only" 300mbps?

View 9 Replies View Relatedhave remote routers boot and load a config from the flash card. It seems this is possible if the Flash Class is A, according to the Cisco web site using the
boot config flash:<Config file>
where <Config file> is the file on the flash.
Although this can be applied on 2811 routers, they fail to load the file on the flash card. I've since found that this router type has a Class C flash. So the question is, can either:
Is there a similar process for other classes of Flash cards, specifically Class C?
or
The router flash be set as a Class A to support this functionality,
The preferred resolution for this would be the first as there are many remote routers installed a diverse and difficult locations to visit, should a format/rebuild of the flash fail for some reason.
don't ask to list the output of a show boot or show bootvar, neither of these commands work. The Startup/Running config lists the boot config line.

I inserted it in Slot 1 and powered up the router and there was a new serial interface showing in the config automatically as s0/1/0. I was able to get it setup with ppp multilink and added to the multilink group. The problem is I need to do a sh controller or sh service-module to see if there are errors happening (I'm using this card as a replacement for an interface that was giving errors with this line before). I can do a sh s0/1/0 and that works but I can't see deeper. I found it odd that the serial port just appeared in the config when I booted without having to do anything, if this is correct behavior and how I see the Controller or CSU info for troubleshooting?
