I've just bought a ZTE MF62 (same as MF60 I believe) 3G Modem, and would like to connect it to my Netcomm 3G Wireless router. However the MF62 seems to kill all connectivity to the Netcomm router.Anybody setup up a ZTE modem with a Netcomm Router. What did you need to do?The ZTE modem does have wireless functionality, but I want to use the Netcomm as the wireless router because the ZTE goes into sleep mode after 10 minutes of inactivity, which is a annoying

Linksys Wireless Router :: Bridging From Netcomm To EA6500

Mar 5, 2013

I'm attempting to bridge from a Netcomm router to my EA6500, I can set the Netcomm into bridging mode no problems and as expected the Internet is gone.Next step is to access my EA6500 to configure it to manage Internet access however when I try 192.168.1.1 to get to my EA6500 it takes me to the WEB interface for the Netcomm router as it's default IP is also 192.168.1.1, so I'm stuck. So they have the same default IP address, how do i get to my EA6500 to finish the configuration?

Cannot Connect To Netcomm Wireless N Extender?

Jul 9, 2012

I recently just bought a Netcomm NP124 wireless extender as a computer on the other side of my house does not get within the range of my routers wireless. So i have opened the package and followed the step by step manual of how to set it up. it is as follows:

1. to initially set up the product we recommend you plug the NP124 into a power socket near both you existing router and computer (DONE successfully)

2. Plug the supplied Ethernet cable into your NP124 and connect the other end to the computer (DONE successfully)

*this is where the problem lies*

3. you can connect your devises through the web user interface. to open the web browser (internet explorer, Firefox, etc) and type 192.168.20.1 into the address bar and hit enter.

4. When prompted add in the username and password.

Before i keep going i must tell you that my desktop computer doesnt have wireless but my modem/router does so i connect my computer to my router via an ethernet cable. There are further steps but i cannot get past step 3. When i attempt to type the IP in the URL it says "problem loading page", "unable to connect". At all times my phone line is connected to my modem/router. These are the cable variations i have tried:

a) -ethernet from computer to NP124
-No ethernet connection from modem/router to computer
**this is the procedure outlines in the manual, does the manual assume i have a wireless connection
to the internet in my desktop?**

b) -ethernet from the computer to the modem/router
-ethernet from the NP 124 to the moder/router

c) now using an Ethernet hub:
-(ALL) NP124, modem/router and desktop connected to the hub at the same time

I cannot see why the IP does not connect, without this stage i cannot enter the wireless settings of the NP124. I have tested to see if other IP addresses work in the URL (eg the modems 192.168.1.1) and it works but the NP124 doesnt.

Cisco Routers :: SRP527W VLAN Not Talking To Each Other

Dec 17, 2012

I have a SRP527W router connected to a L2 managed switch (a TP-Link... I know, it is not a Cisco...). and a PC and a Printer connected to the switch. Now, I want to have the PC and the printer on 2 VLANs.

I've created 2 VLANs on the SRP (192.168.1.0/24 and 192.168.2.0/24) and I have assigned Lan port 1 to both. The SRP acts a DHCP server so I have the SRP setup as 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.2.1 providing IP addresses to the 2 VLANs.

I setup VLAN 1 and 2 on the switch, assigning port 2 to VLAN 1 and port 3 to VLAN 2 (port 1 is trunk and connects to the SRP).

When I fire up the PC and printer they get their respective VLANs correct addresses (PC: 192.168.1.30 and printer: 192.168.2.30) but I cannot for the love of Odin see the printer from the PC. The SRP has Inter VLAN routing enabled. By the way, the switch has address 192.168.1.2

Cisco :: WAP4410N Not Talking To RADIUS Server

May 13, 2013

I am trying to configure a WAP4410N, with latest firmware, for disabled security (i.e.: no WEP/WPA, user passwords etc) but enable MAC authentication control using RADIUS.If I test the WAP using disabled security and disabled authentication control, the WAP works fine. When I enable the RADIUS MAC authentication (ensuring I have entered the correct RADIUS server details) nothing happens, the WAP connection just fails. Also, the RADIUS server doesn't log any attempts from the WAP to connect. Is there a known problem with this WAP simply not working with RADIUS under this configuration?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 1721 / Vlans Talking To Each Other Without Subinterfaces Set?

Sep 14, 2012

I have set up a couple of vlans on a cisco 1721 router 4esw card using the vlan database and assigning an ip address of 192.168.1.x and 192.168.2.x for each vlan interface.Strangely enough connected computers can talk to the other vlan and I have not set any subinterfaces on the etherner0 (layer 3) and not even connected a cable. Is there any reason why this should happen since they should not talk to eachother being on seperate vlans.Doing a tracert shows that first the vlan ip address is hit and then straight to the target pc in the other vlan?

Cisco Firewall :: ASA 5510 / Unable To Get Internal Networks Talking To Each Other

Apr 22, 2012

I am tasked with transferring all clients from one subnet to the other. I figure the nicest way to do this is to temporarily have the subnets talk to each other in an endeavour to avoid as much downtime as possible. The two internal subnets are:

192.168.0.0/24
192.168.43.0/24 (the intended migration network)

I am beating my head against the desk here as I dont seem to be getting anywhere after the changes I have made. The current configuration is as such:

ASA Version 8.2(5)
!
hostname ciscoasa
domain-name *****
enable password ***** encrypted
passwd ***** encrypted
names

[code]......

Upgrading the firmware is not really an option?

Routers / Switches :: Connect Modem To Wireless Router / Modem Combo?

Aug 23, 2011

My Motorola SBG901 Modem/Router combo has stopped connecting to the internet. I have done all the troubleshooting with Comcast and with Motorola and it is out of warranty, so I will have to purchase a new one.In the mean time, I wanted to use it only as a wireless router connected to my Scientific Atlanta DPC2100R2 modem. Is there anyway to do this? Is there a way to disable the modem in the SBG901? Simply connecting with the ethernet cords has not worked. I connected the DPC2100 to the SBG901 via ethernet cord. My computer was able to pick up a wireless connection but there is no cable connection.

Setting Up A Modem / Router Combo (D-Link DSL2730-B) As A Dedicated Modem?

Feb 28, 2013

i just bought a Netgear WNDR4000 router due to troubles with my current modem/router combo (D-Link DSL2730-B). The router doesnt have in built modem functionality obviously so I need to set up the modem/router as a dedicated modem. Also should I use the current modem/router as the dedicated modem or an older model i own (I think its a DSL 502T)? Because the current one often drops the internet connection. Don't know if its a problem with the modem functionality or something else. Will the older one serve better since i didn't have any problems with that one or will it be outdated? I only upgraded due it not having wireless capabilities. Otherwise it's fine.Or will I be even better off buying a dedicated modem? I really don't want to spend more money but if this is a far better alternative I guess i will.

EDIT: Ok so found out that I have to put the modem/router in bridge mode in order for this to be possible. However, looking up how to do this lead me to a dead end because i need to fill in some fields that i have no idea how to interpret.

VPI:
VCI: These 2 already came with presets. Should I just leave them?
Select DSL Link Type (EoA is for PPPoE, IPoE, and Bridge): Choices of EoA PPPoA and IPoA
Encapsulation Mode: Choices of LLC/SNAP-BRIDGING and VC/MUX
Service Category: UBR without PCR, UBR with PCR, CBR, Non Realtime VBR, Realtime VBR

Computer Randomly Disconnects From Modem But Modem Is Still Running

Jul 5, 2012

my computer randomly disconnects from my modem and will not reconnect until I restart my computer (do not need to restart modem). When I check the modem, it always is still running. The lights on the modem do the exact same thing whether the internet is working or not. The disconnection is entirely random. Sometimes it will disconnect immediately, sometimes it will take up to a few hours. I do not have a router hooked up to the modem, and the only other thing the modem is hooked up to is our tv. But even when the tv box is off, we still randomly disconnect.

On the previous forum thread that I read, some of the comments asked for the person to paste their entire ipconfig and their entire ping list from command prompt I will post that below: [code] Could it possibly be a virus? I am currently performing a virus scan using Microsoft Security Essentials. I will report the results of that tomorrow, seeing that it will take several (up to 10) hours to finish and it is nearly midnight of me posting this.I should also note that whenever I unplug my Ethernet cord it gives me a symbol that looks like this other than the regular disconnect with the red "X" over the wire symbol.

D-Link DIR-651 Installing Wireless Router Downstream From Modem / Router Combo

Nov 24, 2011

I have a buddy who owns a bar and wants to install a insecure wireless router for his customers downstream from his SBC Global ATT Modem/Wireless Router combo.

-Modem/Router Combo: Actiontec GT724WG
-Downstream Unsecure Wireless Router: D-Link DIR-651

He says has 3 static ips for the modem, and 1 of the network cables coming from the modem directly into the D-Link Router. I first attempted to just plug it into the uplink, and let DCHP do its magic, but I had no luck with that. I could connect to the router but it didn't have internet.

So I restarted the downstream router, and plugged the network cable into the 1st port, and suddenly I had internet on the wireless but it would constantly go up and down, and ping times were extreme erratic.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E1200 - Cascading From A Modem / Router?

Jun 27, 2012

I have a wireless modem/router combo right now provided to me by Centrylink, its the Q1000. I am trying to hook up a 2nd router to our network to extend range and allow extra ethernet connections points. The new (2nd) Router is a  Linksys E1200. I have been told by multiple sources it should be possible to hook the Linksy's router to the modem/router, but I am still not sure how to. All of the directions I have read involve disconnecting the old router (in my case, the Q1000) and then connecting the new router (E1200) in order to configure it. But I am not sure how to do this with out the internet access provided by the old router. how to cascade like this while using a modem/router

My question is about open ports for devices connected to the Slave Router.. For example, I have certain ports open on my PS3 for playing Call of Duty online. Will all of the traffic for these ports simply flow through the slave router or do I need to open up all the same ports on the Slave Router?

Belkin N Router Connecting To G Modem/Router?

Oct 21, 2011

I recently purchased a new Belkin N wireless router, model number (F5D8236-4 V3), i am however trying to connect this router to my old Belkin G wireless Modem Router (F5D7632-4 Ver7000uk).Now i can't seem to get the N router to connect to the internet-after much faffing about i can get all the LED lights to turn blue-bar the wireless which blinks amber (i did this by turning the DHCP server off, and by using the same WEP code). I get limited connectivity wirelessly and wired, which basically might aswell just say no connection.

Taking the N router out of the equation, the g router can connect to the internet wired (it no longer seems to work wirelessly, and had a horrible range on it anyway). I use a PPPoE connection-all my ISP details are correct.how i can get the N Router to work wirelessly and wired.

Using A Wireless Router After A DSL Modem And Before A Wired Router?

Aug 30, 2011

I have a wired network at work and would like to add wireless capability so the owners here can connect with their mobile devices. The ultimate goal is to have WiFi for company only and not for customers (invisible network). I read about making my wireless router into an access point, which involves disabling the DHCP server on the wireless router and letting your wired router deal with it. The issue is that my wired router is preconfigured for my POS system at work and it has it's DHCP server disabled. So, this configuration isn't an option. Is there any way that I can use my wireless router BEFORE my wired? My DSL modem is in Bridge mode and my wired router deals with the login. I hope this isn't an issue. I'm unsure of which router would deal with the DSL login

Set Up A New Belkin Modem / Router - No LAN

Jun 1, 2012

I am trying to set up a new Belkin modem/router.I have Internet on all three computers over both ethernet and wireless, but no local network. I think the problem may be IP addresses, but I cannot solve it.The LAN settings in the router now are:

DHCP (.) On

IP Pooling Start 192.168.2.2
IP Pooling End 192.168.2.100

Lease time: forever

LAN/DHCP Client List is empty. With the previous modem the IP addresses of the machines were from 192.168.1.2 upwards, but the new modem considers this range invalid.(This isn't specifically an XP problem as one of the machines is Window-7).

Modem Is Not Connecting To Router - DNS Not Available

The modem works fine without the router but we need it for school work. The troubleshooter says "DNS is not available".A few things i tried was to unplug everything and reconnect them back from the modem to the computer. It usually works when i had trouble in the past but it seems nothing is working.
