I have this idea of using my old computer (which is still pretty awesome) as a back up + production server. What this would entail would be that each person in my house has a dedicated hard drive that auto-syncs folders they've selected for backing up (not Memeo under any circumstances!). Then there will be a hard drive for me to work on web projects on. I'd like this computer to be very secure but if needed, I could show my work on the production drive to my boss.
Is it possible to create a job what automatically export the devices configs that are in the folder CSCOpxfiles medemushadow? It would be wonderdul if CW could export the .cfg files into a .rar and send in email or something like this.
How to set auto backup folders and files in windows2003Should i use inbuilt utility or should i use any Third Party software if software which is the best one that i use
I am not sure whether this is the right category to which I should submit my question, but I couldn't find a section for "other software support" or anything like that.I am running Windows SBS 2003 at one of my clients and we are using Syncback as the backup software to backup important files and folders that gets written to the server on a daily basis. Now we are using two external drives for this purpose, alternating the two every second day, for improved security.However...I have set up the backup profiles exaclty with the same configurations and everything...everything is identical. But the backup to one of my drives does not want to perform giving the error : "the folder on the destination drive does not exist and can't be created"The folder does exist though, and what puzzles me is that running the backup manually or even copying files manually from the same server backup folders to the drive works perfectly, but when running the scheduled backup, it fails...and yes, the logon and authentication is set to "run as administrator" and the username and password is entered correctly.Like I said, the configs of the two drives are exactly the same, and the backup to the other drive works perfectly.I am using the Syncback free version, and support for the free version on the 2Brightsparks website is unavailable
I have got a 1TB external HDD...I want to use this to backup my data (dokuments , pics , video) that are on 2 desktops and one laptop---
AS I understand the terminology a I won't have enough room to do image backups (these back up all info incl OS ??) as on pc is usingb 677 gb and the other 400 gb ---- and anyway I can re-install windows if anything goes wrong...
SO---am I able to do this-
1. connect the ext- HDD to PC running win 7 64 bit....create a folder called "win 7 64 bit" and then drag and drop filesand folders into that folder(or use windows backup..which i am unfamilar with)
2. then connect to PC running Vista 64 bit ..create a flder called "Vista 64 bit" and do as above....
3. Do the same for the laptop running win 7 32 bit
Am I right in assumming that because it's just data I can put info from different OS on to it without and conflicts when connecting it to different Pc's?
Two desktop computers with windows 7 home premium.Router: Netgear WNR2000v2 (which is NOT IPv6 compliant).External HD: 2TB Fantom.I have the external HD connected to one of the desktops via USB. I'd like to use it to back up the second computer to this HD.How do I get the second computer to recognize this as a backup target?Incidentally I've had problems getting HomeGroup setup since IPv6 is required for HomeGroup. I assume the problems are because the router isn't IPv6 compliant. I've tried the Microsoft Fixit 50410 (Use IPv4 instead of IPv6 in prefix policies. I've also reverted using Microsoft Fixit 50440 (Enable IPv6).
Rolled patch cable RJ45 to DB25M adapter (pinout from a cisco guide)
So far I am unable to get the router/modem to dial out at all. I know the modems work, I have tested them from Windows.
I have attached a couple of outputs from "show line" and "show line 1" from the router and also what I think are the relevent lines of config although it will be too much config and probably jumbled by now as I've tried quite a few things to try and get this working.
I am more concerned with the config relating to the connection of the analogue modem than the routing element.
I've been reading that the Windows Server Backup that is included with Server 08 R2 is pretty good. Is spending $400 on a third party utility worth it?
I'm asking because we're purchasing a new server soon and I want to know if the included backup is going to be good enough. Will be backing up server state as well as data to tape and possibly an off site server (server 2003) if I get my way.
The public IP address of my 2800 router where all VPN clients terminate will change shortly. There are some technique to auto-change the client´s profile for clients to connect to the new IP address? I have seen that VPN 3000 concentrator is able to do this so i can´t get one of those right now
Under Service in Win NT 2008 server, how can I remove the auto-shut down task schedule for all students' computers in the classrooms. It always popup a message box at 5:30pm - "auto shutdown" in all workstations (win xp). How to remove that from "service" and not affecting the server to shutdown? Click where to disable/stop it?
if i enable Controller Configuration Backup is that included in the server backup? and can the controller configs be specifically extracted from the server backup?
We want to take the current configuration backup of the LMS 4.0 (Installed on Win 2003 Enterprise) and restore the same to a new windows machine (Win2003 standard edition).
I have a Nas4Free (FreeBSD) server on location A and another Nas4Free server on location B.
I need to regulary access to location B's some folder from Windows machine at location A. What is the best scenario for this?
I think to rsync those folders/files every night to location A, but then I think what if in the future there are many other locations (C, D, E, F) that need to be rsynced to location A, that will make location A need a very large harddisk space that maybe not available in the market or limit by the hardware/BIOS support.
all this inside the router or the switch. From the Linux box just running a simple command such as:
tftp 172.16.0.3 -c get startup-config newbackup.conf
where 172.16.0.3 is the IP address of the switch and newbackup.conf is the name of the config file stored on the Linux machine. So, how do I do that with an ASA box? how to backup ASA from inside it.
Database backup on the LMS server is frequently failing due to job conflict and we have upgraded the lms from LMS 4.2.2 to LMS 4.2.3 to fix this but no luck. same issue we are facing again in the 4.2.3.
Is it possible for AnyConnect to utilise the backup server defined in the connection profile when the session limit is hit on an ASA? Essentially if I hit the 250 limit on my ASA 5510 in Region A, will it try the backup server ASA defined in the connection profile which is in Region B?
From what I have read, the backup server only kicks in when the AnyConnect client cannot connect, but in this scenario it will connect but get an error message.
I have a problem with that the ACE20 (A2(3.2)) does send the connections to a backup real server in the serverfarm. I will how to troubleshoot in this case ? This is serverfarm configuration.
I have to install Prime LMS 4.2 on ESX customer infrastructure (ova image as soft appliance). The customer would like to know if LMS 4.2 is compatible with his backup agents :
I have a Cisco 831 router (c831-k9o3y6-mz.124-5c.bin) that cannot backup the config to a local tftp server. I have seen this behavior on a few different Cisco devices over the years and have never found a solution. The connection is made to the tftp server (in this case tftpd but similar behavior on any tftp server) and a blank file is created on the target machine file system, but the data is never transferred.
The router shows %Error opening tftp://192.168.0.2/router-confg (Timed out) [Failed] The tftpd log shows 5 repeated attempts at the file write.

This is also stopping me upgrading the image on the router as I cannot transfer in the other direction either.
I have a DLSW connectivity between 2800 series router and 7206 router. AS 400 is directly connected to 2800 series router and other server is connected directly to 7206 router. now i want to add one more server which will work as backup for the server connected to 7206 . What would be the connectivity/configuration to make it working in case primary server connected to 7206 is down or connection would automatically needs to shift on its backup server.
We have a business case where we have a group of ASA 5505's in 3 locations with anyconnect user licensing on all 3 for redundancy. The problem we are facing is that when we need to authenticate our anyconnect clients we use active directory servers located at site 1 and the other 2 sites need to contact these MS AD Servers over an already connected VPN tunnel to site 1 (IPSec l2l) but cannot. So the layout is as follows:Site 1 (houses AD servers) has l2l tunnels to site 2 and 3Site 2 (any connect essentials enabled) has l2l tunnel to site 1 and 3Site 3 (any connect essentials enabled) has l2l tunnel to site 2 and 3AD servers are ip'd as 10.1.1.11 and 10.1.1.4If I use anyconnect to site 1 it authenticates fine - as expected.Site 2 and site 3 fails to contact AD serverAny thoughts on how we can accomplish this(or is it even possible to do?) without exposing the AD server in a DMZ or via external ip?
I would like to know whether LMS 4.1 (local server mode) has the ability to relay syslog messages received from devices to an external syslog server? If so, how do I configure such?
From reading the document and going through the LMS 4.1 GUI, it appears that it could receive and forward messages but only between LMS system (ie. multi server mode) as SSL is required.
get my localhost/ server to be visible to everybody via my external IP.
Things you may need to know:
-I'm running WAMP server, and Apache is installed and running.
-I have no firewall.
-I've forwarded port 80 (HTTP) in my modem and my router configurations. (Netgear WGR614v8 Router & Embarq EQ-660R 660 Series modem)
-I've tried several DNS Hosts, none of them have worked.
-I'm not too sure about the configurations of the WAMP server, though.. here's the file (nothing is edited)
Code: # # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the # configuration directives that give the server its instructions. # See <URL: for detailed information.
Whats the difference between DNS Server and External IP Address? When I dump Ipconfig /all into a .txt file I see that it shows three seperate values for the DNS Server. My question is, since ipconfig /all does not give an external IP address, are they the same? Why are theyre three?
I'm running a Windows Home Server in my LAN and I would like to use it's functionalities (especially the streaming) features from "anywhere" using the same URL.My router is a Linksys WRT160Nv3 running.I've already setup the necessary port forwardings, as most of the WHS sites run on ports 80 (http) and/or 443 (https) and my isp is blocking all ports < 1024 (I know it suck, but nothing to do about)
