Cisco :: NAM App 2204 Ver 5.0(1) - Incorrect Timestamps In Captures
Apr 1, 2012I have a NAM appliance that generates captures with incorrect timestamps. It looks like it's adding 3 extra zeros after the period, turning miliseconds into microseconds.

Sep 12, 2012I have done this in the past but I cannot find it anywhere......how do you display the uptime of a CSM module in a 6500? The chassis has an uptime of over 2 years, but I believe the CSM module was power cycled at some point within that 2 years and I need to find out if we may be running in to the bug that occurs after 828days of uptime. We are running 4.2(6) on the CSM and 12.2(18)SXF1 IOS on the SUP.

Jan 16, 2013I get frequent internet disconnects. Sometimes when I notice I can't get into the web gui; other time I can get in but I have to re-authenticate, and I see the wan port is re-initializing. So of course, the "WAN uptime" starts again at zero. I can then look at the "statistics" page and see that the LAN packets are really low (like low 4 digits). SO, my guess is the router is randomly resetting. But how can I check the router uptime?? I searched and I see plenty of folks reporting their uptimes, but I can't find it anywhere in the GUI. I want to be able to prove that it's the router and not the cable modem or WAN connection....I was getting the logs emailed, but really can't decipher anything. I have "system activity", "attacks", and "notices" enabled. It's DIR-655, hardware B1, firmware 2.10NA.I already emailed DLINK support asking for a warranty replacement, as this one is only 10 months old. If they don't come through, it's time to jump ship to a new vendor. Will be my second dead one in under a year.

Jan 26, 2012My boss is asking me to write a batch file or use a utility to monitor the uptime of 16 different ISP accounts that we use across several stores. Most stores have several ISP accounts setup as failover, so they're not always active on our network but the ISP should still be up. He would like this to run from one of our servers. He is suggesting the 'gateway' for the ISP however I am not sure how to find this IP. The tracert utility returns IP addresses which are different than the gateway address in our router settings so I am wary to use those IPs.Which IPs would I ping to monitor the uptime and where would be the best place to find them?

There seems to be a problem with my DIR-655.
#1. As we speak the router is taking down and setting up the connection about 1-2 times pr. minute! the connection uptime is stuck in a infinite loop: 1.12 sec, 1.13, 1.14 and back to 1.12 sec. It comes back from time to time. but this is the second time this have happened.

Can't Obtain IP Address From Wireless Access Point After Few Days Of Uptime?
Dec 12, 2012My set up is a 2wire router that connects to the internet, with an ethernet power plug connected to it. Over the other side of the house, I have the other ethernet power plug connected, with a Netgear router in access point mode.The main router is on 192.168.1.1, and the access point is on 192.168.1.3. The DCHP server is enabled on the main router with range 192.168.64 to 192.168.1.253. The access point has the DCHP server turned off. The routers have the same APN and security (WPA2-PSK).Also, the wireless channels don't overlap, channel 1 and 11.Now to my problem:The internet always works fine for a few days when the routers are turned on. But at some point between 1 to 3 days later, every computer can't obtain an IP address while connected to the access point. But all computers can connect to the main router (i.e. when closer to the main router than the access point), and then go near the access point and it keeps the connection. If I reboot the access point, then everything works again for a few days.

Cisco Application :: ACE 20 Service-policy Out Of Service / Still Able To Connect To VIP
Feb 28, 2012We have a situation where services are stopped on the real servers. The probes fail and we confirm the services are not running on the server. We cannot access the ports from the ACE directly. We can still however acces the VIP on the TCP port (L4 VIP class-map). So we can still telnet to the VIP on the port from thr Client side of the network.This is on ACE 20 Modules deployed in Routed mode. The version of software is A2(3.3).
Tried removing multi-match and loadbalance policies as well as class-map and re-applying then re-appyling the service policy to interface. Same behavior,This is a problem at another level as some services are being monitored by GSS via TCP keep-Alive and this obviuosly causes a problem as the service then never goes off-line.

Mar 31, 2011I have recently updated one of our customer's MSE to version 7.0.105. Now for some reason the Aeroscout service will not run. I have tried starting it manually , however it stops after 10 - 15 secs.

Their company is an AT&T customer.So we have got from distribution a 881G and it has a PCEX-3G-HSPA-US card with it.What do you do or need to get AT&T service on this card. You call AT&T they don't know what your talking about if you say Cisco 3G card?I don't see a SIM slot which most AT&T device have a SIM card?Is there somewhere special you have to call for these to get service? Any checklist for ordering and also configuring for AT&T?FYI, we will do DHCP with it and it will be our backup ISP on and ASA if the primary internet goes down. We will just use a 172.30.x.x addressing between the ASA Outside-Backup interface and the 881G.

Dec 22, 2011I'm in the process of building a media server, and I mentioned to my wife that eventually we can record her shows in HD and get rid of the costs of having a dvr with our cable bill. I was doing some research and I've come to the conclusion that I may need to increase the budget for my build (which is extremely tight) and will not sit well with the wife. I'm using all older/recycled hardware, specs below:

I just read last night that I'll need at least xp pro in order to access my server (host?) remotely from say my parents house on a laptop (client?) Is there a workaround or some other program that I could use for windows environment. I'm considering linux for the server also but I've never used any form of linux before, so I fig'd, until I get the hang of setting up the server and having it working properly, maybe make the switch to linux later. The server will be hooked up to my ps3 which will stream movies/tv shows, and I'd like to be able to access my network to watch shows from a different location when I'm out of town.

So I have been into Services to 'start' Cisco Systems, Inc. VPN Services - this then always comes up with this error: Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion
The solution mentioned on other posts on disabling the ICS but it was already disabled. When I try to start VPNGUI I also get error 56 and when I try to use services.msc to start the service I get error 1053. Then also when I try to start from task manager services(cvpnnd) i get access denied.

Jul 9, 2012I have currently a Cisco 3600 router, it has three interfaces (all ethernet interfaces only).We being a client, our requirement is, we want two links one being the primary and one secondary for the fail over.My ISP has done certain configurations, but I am so puzzled what really has been done. I asked with them and they told that they have provided us one public IP 202.166.217.248 via Fibre--> Media Converter-->Ethernet 0/0.At the same time, they have given us a pool of addresses of the network 202.166.216.48/29 through the interface Ethernet 2/1.And we have used all the available public IPs in the server farm.They have told that, for the failover purpose via wireless, they have even used an IP address 202.166.213.114/25.
Now, where my confusion lies is, cant they provide the pool address via fibre? What is the significance of the ip that has been provided via fibre? What actually is its purpose? Isn't it consuming an extra interface ?Cant we have both the primary and secondary link excluding that one additional process?Or, am not understanding the real working mechanism how ISP distribute the internet?
