Apr 24, 2011I see differrent voltage in line card ws-6704. Iam afraid of something went wrong with my 6500 switch. two 6500 switch is redundant.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 6513 - Mod 9 Recycling Power - 10 Gig 6704 Card
Feb 26, 2012I have 2 6513's between floors that have a port channel between them using 2 10 gig interfaces on 6704 cardsThis weekend I lost the port channel for about 4 mins and then it came back up. Unfort at the time I had logging turned off so was unable to get any info as to why. But I turned on debugging that eve and this morn it happened again.
Looks like Mod 9 is being power recycled, 6704 is about a year old and had been running for a month or so without issue.The only thing I have upgraded in the last few weeks was I put in a pair of 6000w supplies..But I am not having any other issuesother than mod 9. In hind sight a better design would be to spread this port channel across 10 gig cards. I'll work on that next.

Jan 26, 2013The WS-X68xx series line card has a fabric of 40Gbps and a 16 Port 10GE has a 4:1 oversubscription rate. The WS-X6908-10G has a fabric speed of 80Gbps and has a 1:1 oversubscription rate.
If I mixed the 68xx and 69xx series line card, do I get 80Gbps for the 6900x and 40gbps for the 68xx line card? Or would the 69xx series line card be downgraded to 40Gbps?
From my understanding, the 68xx series has a DFC card and thus the fabric speed operates independently.

Jan 26, 2012Looking to link up to 6513 chassis via 6704 10 gig cards.
I have a 6513 on the 8th floor and one on the 3rd floor in same building. Distance would be approx 150' max. New 10 gig cabling was installed between these floors.
I would like to use 2 10 gig ints on each 6704 to form a port channel (LACP) between the 2 environments.
So far I have been unable to get the links up between 6704's.

Dec 18, 2011My Dir-615 stopped working some weeks ago and I switched to another router until I had time to look at it. Tonight I checked the ps voltage and it read exactly +5v but just for a test I tried another 5v ps (which tested a little higher) and it worked. The ps that works reads about link +7vdc. Before this the power light came on with the occasional blink but I could't connect.

Feb 25, 2013I had a bad power surge yesterday that took out a 2960g switch and the APC UPS that it was connected too. when plugged in the fan comes on and the syst light stays amber and the rps, stat, duplex. and speed light stay lit and the port lights for ports 21-24 stay lit. plugging it into the console on boot I cant even see rommon, so i dont think its even booting. I would like to find a pinout and voltage guide for the connector comming off the power supply so I can check the voltages coming off the power supply to tell if it is a bad PSU or if it took out the main board.
