Internet IP Address - Linksys Status Different From IPChicken
Oct 23, 2012
The past few days, I've been unable to access our CCTV feed online and the technician says that the reason we are having this issue is because my Internet IP Address in the Linksys Status Page (100.85.xxx.xx) is different from the IP Address in IP Chicken 110.55.xxx.xxThe CCTV technician is passing on the blame to our ISP while the ISP is passing it to the CCTV technician.
I am trying to setup my E4200 to my new Cable Modem. I followed all of the procedures. I get Internet access when plugged directly to modem. I cloned the MAC Address and the Stus of the Router displays my current IP's (so I should have Internet). However, when I plug my computer into the Router I get no internet access.
When I look at the "network and sharing" page it saying that I'm connected same goes for the "Wireless Network Connection Status" page (which says "internet" in the "IPv4 connectivity" and "no internet access" in the "IPv6 connectivity"). But when the computer has to update It'll say "no internet access" and when i go on Internet Explorer it won't say anything instead the green loading bar on the bottom of the page will be stuck in the middle.
So I'm trying to fix gateway laptop running Vista. The computer can connect both wired and wirelessly to the internet just fine. Sadly that's all it does. It doesn't let you use IE/Firefox/Skype or video games or anything. Every program acts like you're not connected. All signs seem to point towards it working just fine. I'm at a loss and can't figure out what's wrong with it.
Also, the internet works just fine if you start in safe mode with networking. You can use IE/Firefox just fine. I've tried turning off proxies and such but there aren't any as far as I can tell.
I have an older rev a DIR-655 that has served me well. Today I finally upgraded my ISP to cable (from a slower DLS connection) to get reasonable speed/price All is working very well but unlike my old DSL modem the internet status light on the DIR-655 blinks very rapidly all the time instead of when traffic is passed. The new modem is a Motorola SB6141,I am running the latest firmware 1.35NA I went through a complete re-setup to see if that would calm the light but no dice there. (the settings arrived at were basically the same for the old Sprint modem) ,Is there something I am missing or is it time to retire the old DIR-655 for something more current.
I am having trouble keeping my computer connected to the internet...even though it says my signal strength from my wireless internet is excellent. every time i get online i put in my url and it loads the page but if i click on anything on that page it asks me to connect again even though my computer says im still connected.
i did a fresh install of windows Xp on my sisters old laptop i had to transfer the drivers for it from my computer via usb drive since she didnt know where the original discs for it where at. Anyways my problem is exactly as the title says, i was able to connect it to the wifi router it recieves and sends packets just no problem but i cannot get an ip address or subnet mask. i checked ipconfig /all and it shows 0.0.0.0 for both the address and subnet mask with the defualt gateway being nothing, i tried using ipconfig /renew and the doesnt work it just times out. the DHCP client has started and is runnig on automatic. I am using my computer to type this since the laptop does not work, i only know so much about networking i can get by with normal problems this is beyond me though. internet provider is AT&T the laptop connects via linksys mini pci card I ran the set up for the router still nothing and after runnig the internet setup in the control panel i was able to get it connected and send/recieve packets but still no ip and not able to use the internet at all.
I'm thinking of upgrading from my Linksys WRT54G router to the E4200 and though I've goggled. Also, are there no LEDs on this unit to tell you the status of what's connected?
I have the Linksys EA6500 with the latest firmware and have a question regarding the device list connection status.Currently, I am seeing devices in the list that have a connection status of live, but they are not even within my home network. What is the update/cycle time for the device list actually checking connection status of a device? In my situation, it has been 3 days (72 hours) since the two device showing as connected have not been connected to my home network/router. Noticed that this inaccurate connection status for these devices is also contributing to the Device Monitr app not showing correct device connection status info.
Would like to have real-time device connection status if possible. This device list is great way to know when device get connected or disconnected which let me know when my kids get home from school or using game console when should be doing homework.
I cannot access my Motorola SB6141 cable modem status page at 192.168.100.1 thru the EA6500 router. I can bypass the router and can connect to the status page with no problem. Is there a setting to change or can I possibly do port forwarding to access it?
I was able to install the RV042 router to my ATT DSL line (WAN1 port-INTERNET) and it gets an external IP address automatically and the Internet works. When I connect my Comcast Internet to WAN2 port INTERNTE/DMZ) it doesn't get an IP address. and the Internet goes down and the WAN2 port ip address says 0.0.0.0.I've tried releasing/ renewing and it still says 0.0.0.0.Everything else is set as the default.
I switched from Time Capsule with AirPort to E2000 and have a problem with configuration.I use the same IPs as in AirPort and E2000 gives me an error:"The WAN IP address cannot be the same subnet as the Guest Network IP address" and I can't save configuration. But in my opinion they are different.I use "Static IP" option and I have IPs from my ISP: [code] So WAN IP is different subnet as LAN and I don't know what to do now. It worked with these settings in AirPort and here I can't proceed.
I have a Linksys WRT54GS v5.1 router running firmware 1.52.5.I am trying to use Linksys IP Phones SPA942, but these do not seem to be able to log on and just show "Initializing network" even though the MAC address appears in the router with an IP address. The strange thing is that I already have 4 SPA941 phones that work with no problem and just log on to the network. Is there something about the SPA942 that I need to configure differently, I have factory reset it with sucess, but still unable to log on to the network.
recently my internet connection shows the status i mentioned.in cmd ,typed Ipconfig/all and all ip are 0.0.0.0, I Tried to renew the ip by ipconfig /renew it tells THE RPC SERVER IS UNAVAILABLE.and also tried to start DHCP CLIENT in services.msc and got ERROR 1068 : the depency service or group failed to start.
I updated the firmware of my DIR601 to 1.02NA, it now only show NA under status for WAN, even though its connected (PPPoE). It worked with 1.01NA. I tried rebooting the router but no effect
On my Switch (3750), i have a host connected. Checked the interface status and it shows as "connected". However, when i tried checking the MAC connected to that interface, its not showingI have my Switch (3750) connected to a Router (3845). On the Switch, i have a printer connected in an interface. I am seeing the Printer's MAC associated with the switch port. However, when i checked the ARP table; no entry seen for the Printer's MAC. What are the possible reasons for this? We have several same kind of devices connected to network and they are fine.
The internet connection at our business goes down overnight, every night. We then have to turn off the router and turn it back on. It is not the fault of the ISP, but some setting somewhere, either in the router (SG 310 Snapgear) or in a particular program being accessed each night. Fact is, for the time being we are just trying to find out the precise time when this happens, so we can find out a reason. Is there a utility that can monitor the status and tell you at what exact point it stopped?
I have a Cradlepoint MBR1000, it has updated the firmware automatically to 2.0.0. Now I cannot see anything that is connected to it. In other words it will not show any connected equipment in the wireless status, and it will not show DHCP status. I have done a hard reboot and still don't see anything. Everything works, everyone is able to connect, but I can't see them..
LAN connection gets disabled by itself on idle. Sometimes BSODs.A few days ago I tried connecting a MBlaze modem to my laptop (Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit) to access internet. But it resulted in instant BSOD everytime.I deleted the modem software after that & didn't try to connect it again. But now, whenever I connect using my LAN broadband, connection works fine as long as I am continuously browsing something. But as soon as I stop browsing and it goes in idle mode in about 10-15 minutes, the connection gets disconnected. In the adapter properties, it shows that the driver is working properly. If I try to disable or uninstall it it doesn't give a response. The only solution to this is a forced shutdown & restart, after which it works fine untill not idle. I am not able to download anything because of this.I tried many things like reinstalling the network adapter driver, unchecking the power management feature, resetting the connection, etc. but nothing is working.
I just hooked up my DIR-655 yesterday and it seems to be working very well. The only problem I've got is that the Wireless Status page is empty. It filled in with data one time only, and it showed connections, protocols, speeds, etc. that seemed correct.
I do terminal monitor on my 4500 switch.I can't see the status of the interface ( when it become up or down)What is the problem? I need to add a command?
I want to use 1841 router for implementation in one project but I could not find out from where I can get End of Sale, End of Life and End of Support details for this router, any links so that I can dig out Cisco is maintaining these details at some of its portal but where.
