I have need to test async communications through a pair of CGR 2010's..This emulates some particular serial-talking-only devices at either end that want to communicate with eachother. I've done stuff like this before but with modems attached to the PC's.

At first thought i can troubleshoot the problem with google and some driver update. but couldn't fix at all after hours of knocking doors in internet forums and users shared experience.though i bought outlet unit, i was expecting cosmetic wear and tear, never thought i might have unit unusable. i am completely depended of wifi for my daily activities and cannot go to room mates place for wire connection. is this problem only solved by changing hardware coz i have tried all the possible tips and tricks found in internet forums.
i read somewhere that the hardware will be swapped if contacted dell CS with different model. if this was only option why did dell managed to sell a piece of unit not functional. isn't this a bad practice.
We have the 16-port (NM-16A) and 32-port (NM-32A) asynchronous (async) network modules which provides 16 or 32 EIA/TIA-232 (formerly know as RS-232) data terminal equipment (DTE) serial interfaces at speeds up to 134.4 kbps . Few of the interfaces are connected to the console of cisco switches and routers , now we need to know that the remaining interfaces can be connected to console ports of devices other then cisco Systems to manage them , Will it work with them ?

You may choose to configure a BSTUN route, or ignore this message.I know that the address must be content on the frames that income at the serial port interface, I mean the router fordward the frames if this have some BYTE and the start that indicate what is address of a remote device, so i guess that this routing mechanism use that byte to select the remote router.But If I set the address at the local and remote route, the router is not who must include his own address in the frame?If I set a point to point link, the only way if I want to transport more that 1 link,? for now the only way is set TWO groups and set one for first link ant the other for the second. (Serial0--Group1--Serial0 and Serial1--Group2--Serial1)The router do not let me set the same group ant the same route. where at the Serial interface i set the LOCAL ADDRESS for a BSTUN protocol?
My desktop gateway computer slowly started having problems connecting to the internet via the hard ethernet connection to the router(Netgear). Wireless devices connected OK (although often slow). I assumed it was the router so I bought a new one (Linksys), but it's having the same problem. New router I can connect to with my laptop but not with the desktop. Latest errors during setup are Local Area Connection does not have a valid IP configuration and the default gate way is not available.
I restore to factory defaults? I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium on the desktop.
from the main line (internet port), i distribute to 1st 4 ports router (Bluelink R33N) which is 2 connected to the computer + 1 connect to another router (Dlink).. but the 2nd router (DLink) is not working with the internet line.. Tried to connect direct from main server to Dlink, and it's working well, but when use 2 routers in single line, just didnt work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Broadband Optical fibre cable which i used to connect directly to my Desktop and Laptop, i am running win7 on on my desktop/laptop, yesterday I installed Belkin router for my Laptop, worked fine, laptop is wireless now. But when I connected the desktop directly there is an error "670 cannot connect to the server/ cannot find the modem" I deleted the dialup and created new one still the same issue. However If i connect the cable through the Router to the desktop it works. I think I lost the direct connection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using D-Link DIR-600 wireless router for two months with my ISP, SmartBro. A week ago my internet went down due to heavy rain and technical support had a home visit yesterday to re-activate my internet connection. My net connection came back smoothly using a direct connection from modem to laptop.When I tried to connect the modem to my wifi router, the internet was not detected. Even if I reset the router settings, no internet connection was detected. Initially, I thought there is a problem with my wifi router so I connected the modem to our Edimax wired router but still it could not detect internet access. Every time I open a browser while connected to a router, this message is shown (see attached screenshot).
I tried using another ISP, Wi-Tribe with both wired and wifi routers and everything worked well. So now I assume the problem lies with my SmartBro ISP. I called the ISP hotline but they told me that they do not provide support for router connection problems; only with single, direct connect to a PC.I asked a neighbor IT technician to look into my problem but he too could not solve the problem.

I have noticed that when I plug the Ethernet cable from the router to the computer the led on the back of the computer panel does not blink as it does when I route directly from he cable modem.

If I connect the linksys directly to the modem, I'm not getting an internet connection. I've released and renewed IPs to no avail..
but if I hardwire the linksys to the netgear, I do get a good solid internet connection. problem is, I have no need for 2 routers setup on top of each other.
basically, I dont understand why linksys is not able to connect directly to the modem. yet it gets solid connection hardwired through another router.

I recently purchased the router and got the CCC firmware on. It works fine for a while but then I can't connect to the router using my PC unless I log using the remote credentials. Generally if this were the case I wouldn't care but when I do it that way I can't run the speed test. After I reboot the router it works fine again, for a while.
For some reason, it doesn't detect my PC as being connected directly although my PC is connected by wire, directly to the router.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up VLANs in my network.So the first device after the internet cloud is my ISP modem/router. I don't really use the router part. The second device is my Linksys WRT54G router with DD-WRT firmware on it.Between the two, there is a subnet just for them. After the DD-WRT router, there is a subnet for my LAN.The third device is my netgear GS108T switch (with vlan support) to which almost all my computers are hooked up. One of those computers is my server that is domain controller and has the roles as shown in the image. What I would like to do is to create several virtual machines in Hyper-V. The trick is that I want to isolate them from the rest of my network. They should be able to access (and be accessed) from the internet but not the rest of my network. So my whole network should be in the same VLAN but each VM should be individually in separate VLANs.
1) I've allready created the VLANs on my Netgear Switch. I know my DD-WRT also has VLAN support. Do I need to create the same VLANs on that also?
2) How to configure the VLAN part of the Hyper-V server? (by the way, my server OS is Windows Server 2008 R2 with the hyper-v role, it's not the bare-metal hyper-v)Should my Virtual Switch be in VLAN 10 and my VMs in the other VLANs?Should the port (on the netgear switch) in which my server is connected, be in VLAN 10 (so that my server is accessible from every other computer in the network)?
I have an EA3500, I have 30 Mbps download when I connect my pc directly to the modem. When I add in the EA3500 router it drops to only 10 Mbps download on both wired and wireless devices.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I have read about proper procedure involving the connection between a console cable and Hyper-terminal. I have also tried plugging into a network port to obtain an IP Address but nothing seems to work. When powering on the switch I see that it lights up, hear fans spin and assume it has booted properly. I'm using Hyperterminal on Windows Xp Pro SP3 and I've also tried minicom in Fedora.
And just FYI Hyperterminal was set to the proper:
Bits per second: 38400
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop Bits: 1
Flow Control: None
I have rather huge connection at home. DL speed 80Mb, UL speed 3Mb.When I connect my PC directly to modem and configure PPPoE connection, I get 81Mbits/sec. When I connect my old ASMAX $30 router, I get 78 Mbit/sek. And I find it OK.But when I connect my EA6500 I get 28 MBits/sec. Same result on wire as on wireless connection. Of course If I enable prioritisation, I get even less, 12-15 Mbits/sec.I tried already even configuration with ASMAX as wired router and EA6500 connected to its LAN port. It gives me 50Mbits/sec.
